Zoom announced that its generative AI assistant, Zoom AI Companion, has attracted over 125000 users and generated over one million meeting summaries in the two months since its official launch. In addition to achieving numerous milestones, Zoom further announced that Zoom AI Companion will support more languages and optimize existing features.
Smita Hashim, Zoom's Chief Product Officer, said, "Zoom is committed to delivering the best value to our users through our platform, which is why we've made Zoom AI Companion fully available in our paid plans. Zoom continues to innovate its AI capabilities, ensuring that even more users can benefit from Zoom's AI innovations. Zoom's unique AI technology uses different language models for different scenarios, effectively reducing overhead costs and making generative AI more widely applicable."
Zoom AI Companion's new features are now available
Starting today, Zoom AI Companion’s in-meeting question-and-answer feature now supports seven new languages (available in preview form). Based on user feedback, Zoom has also launched meeting summary overviews, allowing users to quickly read a condensed version of the meeting summary sent by the platform.
In addition, Zoom also plans to provide a summary of the meeting based on the chat content in the chat room in November.
More new features will be available in November
Zoom will release more updates to Zoom AI Companion in November, including support for Traditional Chinese in meeting Q&A and meeting summaries, for a total of 11 new languages (available in preview). Additionally, Zoom AI Companion will serve as a meeting coach for users, adding voice analysis to Smart Recordings to help them understand their speaking-to-listening ratio, speaking speed, and typical pauses between sentences.
By analyzing the results, teams can understand how each other communicates and interacts with internal and external participants in Zoom Meetings.
Additionally, Zoom Events will also be able to use the Zoom AI Companion feature, which not only supports message writing in the virtual lobby chat room, but will also assist in drafting emails related to event registration, marketing, and ticketing communications.
Zoom will also open control options to allow users to specify that their enterprise organization's Zoom AI Companion feature can only use the large language model provided by Zoom.
