YouTube is currently testing aArtificial intelligence dubbing function called Aloud, making it easier for content creators to convert the spoken content of a film into other languages.
Although YouTube has already added an automatic translation function, which allows users to watch videos in different languages more easily through automatically generated translated subtitles, it is obvious that it will be easier to attract viewers if the spoken content of the video can be closer to the language familiar to users.
This artificial intelligence dubbing function, called Aloud, was incubated by Area 120, a new startup unit within Google. It uses artificial intelligence technology to convert oral content into different language tones, and the process only takes a few minutes to complete.
The operation process is to first convert the original oral content into text and translate it. Then, the tone of voice content in the corresponding language is generated through automatic generative artificial intelligence technology, thereby helping creators convert video content into different language versions more quickly, while saving the high costs required for translation and dubbing.
The content generated through this feature can basically still be edited and adjusted by the creator, and even content in different languages can be automatically generated. However, it currently only supports videos with English narration, and at this stage, it can only automatically generate narration in Spanish and Portuguese, but more languages will be supported in the future.
