For consumers still undecided about purchasing "Personal Cinema" glasses, Xreal announced an update to its entry-level product line at CES 2026, launching the new Xreal 1S. This product is the successor to the Xreal One, slated for release at the end of 2024, featuring minor upgrades in specifications but at a more affordable price than its predecessor.
Xreal 1S: More features for the same price, wider and brighter view.
The Xreal 1S is a wearable spatial display that connects to a phone, tablet, laptop, or game console via USB-C. Using a miniature display within the glasses, it projects a virtual screen in front of the user, ranging from 171 inches to as large as 500 inches. The entire pair of glasses weighs only 89 grams, and the audio is developed in collaboration with Bose.
This upgrade to the Xreal 1S is a "detailed optimization," improving key specifications of the previous generation:
• Resolution:Upgraded from 1080p to 1200p Full HD.
• Aspect Ratio:The ratio was changed from 16:9 to 16:10, which is more suitable for productivity.
• brightness:The display quality will be improved from 600 nits to 700 nits, resulting in clearer visuals in bright environments.
• Field of view (FOV):The temperature was increased slightly from 50 degrees to 52 degrees.
Most importantly, the Xreal 1S has a suggested retail price of $449 (approximately NT$1.45), which is $50 cheaper than its predecessor.
Xreal Neo: A Perfect Teammate for Nintendo Switch Players
In addition to the glasses, Xreal also launched an external accessory called Xreal Neo. This is a hub that combines a power bank with DisplayPort output functionality.
The Xreal Neo has a built-in 10000mAh battery, which can significantly extend the glasses' usage time. However, its biggest selling point is its support for game consoles, especially the Nintendo Switch and the latest Nintendo Switch 2.
Previously, outputting the Nintendo Switch screen to glasses usually required an adapter and additional power, which was quite inconvenient. With the Xreal Neo, players no longer need to carry the bulky original dock when they go out. They can simply connect the Xreal Neo to charge and play at the same time, and enjoy the game through a large virtual screen.
The suggested retail price for the Xreal Neo is $99 (approximately NT$3200).
Both the Xreal 1S and Xreal Neo are currently available for purchase.
