Unveiled during IFA 2019Xperia 5, it was earlier opened for pre-order by American retailer B&H, with the suggested retail price marked as US$799.99, which is approximately NT$25000 based on the exchange rate.
Compared to the Xperia 6.5 with a 4-inch 1K OLED screen, the Xperia 5 is priced around US$150 (NT$4500). This difference is reflected in the screen size, resolution specifications, the lack of 960fps super slow-motion shooting function, and the difference in battery capacity. The rest of the features, including the 21:9 OLED display, Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of memory and application functions, are the same as the Xperia 1.
According to the notes on the B&H website, the Xperia 5 will be shipped on November 11. It will apparently adopt the same later release model as the Xperia 5, thereby avoiding direct competition with the new iPhone and Mate 1 series.
The launch date of Xperia 5 in Taiwan has not yet been confirmed, nor has the specific price in Taiwan been announced, but it is expected to be launched in October this year.
