As previously announced, Xiaomi recently unveiled its new in-house processor, the Xuanjie O1, which will initially be used in the newly released Xiaomi Mi 15S Pro and Mi Pad 7 Ultra. Xiaomi also introduced another in-house processor, the Xuanjie T1, which will be used in the newly released eSIM version of the Xiaomi Watch S4, signaling the company's expansion of its in-house processor design into network applications.
"Xuanjie O1" boasts of being designed with a 3nm process. Although Xiaomi has not disclosed its specific foundry partner, many speculate that it is assisted by TSMC.
In terms of form, the "Xuanjie O1" does not adopt a fully independent architecture design like Qualcomm. Instead, it follows MediaTek's semi-customized Arm design to form a "2+4+2+2" core combination. It is also equipped with a 16-core Immortalis-G925 GPU and a 6-core NPU. It also integrates Xiaomi's fourth-generation image processor. The chip area is 109mm² and is equipped with a total of 190 billion transistors.
「玄戒O1」並未整合5G連網數據晶片,而是額外使用聯發科以台積電4nm製程生產的T800 5G數據晶片,或許與小米目前在5G連網技術仍無法有所突破有關。
However, the "Xuanjie T1" launched at the same time can use 4G network services in the form of eSIM, showing that Xiaomi is indeed continuing to advance in network technology and is not solely dependent on technology supply from others.
In terms of performance, the "Xuanjie O1" is already quite close to Apple's A18 Pro in terms of performance, but there is still some gap in single-core computing performance. It is expected that Xiaomi will continue to upgrade in the future.
目前「玄戒O1」將率先用於小米15S Pro與小米平板7 Ultra,預計會從即日起在中國市場銷售,而「玄戒T1」則會率先用在eSIM版小米手錶S4,藉此對應4G網路連接功能。
Will the launch of Xiaomi's new in-house processor, the Xuanjie O1, affect its existing partnership with Qualcomm? Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon previously stated that he's not concerned about a change in the partnership with Xiaomi, explaining that, just as Samsung collaborates with Qualcomm, Xiaomi is also investing in Exynos processor product development, and that Xiaomi and Qualcomm maintain a deep partnership.
Xiaomi’s recent announcement of a partnership with Qualcomm shows that Xiaomi will still need high-end flagship processors provided by Qualcomm for its flagship mobile phone products.
