Xiaomi plans to launch theelectric carEarlier, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China revealed the actual appearance and model name.SU7AndSU7 Pro/MaxFor the name.
Registration data shows that the length, width and height of the two vehicles are 4997 x 1963 x 1455mm and 4997 x 1963 x 1440mm respectively. Both have a wheelbase of 3000mm and are equipped with panoramic sunroofs. LiDAR, different wheel sizes and caliper colors can be optionally selected according to needs. The SU7 Pro/Max models will also be equipped with a three-stage adjustable electric rear wing.
The SU7 utilizes lithium iron phosphate batteries supplied by Xiangyang Fudi and features ABS braking system components from Bosch. The SU7 and SU7 Pro/Max utilize ternary lithium-ion batteries from CATL and also utilize ABS braking system components from Bosch. The SU7's motor has a peak power of 220kW, enabling a top speed of 210 kilometers per hour. The SU7 Pro/Max's motors have peak power of 220kW and 275kW, respectively, enabling a top speed of 265 kilometers per hour.
As for the vehicle's appearance, it seems to be designed by a former BMW iX series designer and assembled and manufactured at Xiaomi's smart factory in Yizhuang, Beijing. It is expected to be officially launched in the first half of 2024, and it will use self-developed chips and in-vehicle system architecture.
Xiaomi is already testing its electric vehicle products on the road, and it is expected that two models with different positioning will be ready for launch. One of them, code-named "Modena", will be launched as early as early 2024 and will be targeted to compete with the Tesla Model 3 in the same class.
The other model is codenamed "Le Mans" and is expected to be launched in 2025. It will adopt the same chassis design as "Modena", but the number of electric motors will be increased to 3 sets to improve the vehicle's driving power performance.
As for the model codenamed "Modena", it will be divided into basic and advanced versions. The former will be priced between RMB 26 and RMB 30, while the latter will be priced at more than RMB 35. Both models will adopt Qualcomm Snapdragon smart cockpit design.
