Xiaomi announced earlier through its official Japanese Twitter account that it will officially enter the Japanese market on December 12, achieving its previously revealed goal of entering the Japanese market before 9.
OnPrevious statementIn a recent interview, Wang Xiang, who has been promoted to the president of Xiaomi, said that Xiaomi plans to enter the Japanese market before 2020.
At the same time, in an interview, Wang Xiang also stated that not only mobile phone products will enter the Japanese market, but also Xiaomi's ecological chain products will enter the Japanese market for development, and there are even plans to further deepen cooperation with local telecom operators.
However, Wang Xiang stated that the market development model is still under evaluation and planning at this stage, so the specific approach to entering the Japanese market cannot be disclosed for the time being. However, it is expected that Xiaomi will follow other mobile phone brands and first attract Japanese consumers with a SIM-free model (i.e., direct sales of empty phones). This is also Xiaomi's currently quite popular sales model.
According to information revealed by Xiaomi Japan's official Twitter account, Xiaomi plans to use Tokyo as its first stop to enter the Japanese market, and is expected to enter more cities in Japan in the future.
