Apart from Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold 2At Lei Jun's annual speech and new product launch conference, Xiaomi also unveiled the larger Xiaomi Tablet 5 Pro 12.4, the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, and two high-end smart home appliances from Mijia, namely the Mijia Smart Range Purifier and the Mijia Zoned Washer-Dryer.
The Xiaomi Tablet 5 Pro 12.4 is available in black, silver, and green. It features a USB-C 3.2 Gen1 port, allowing it to output images to an external monitor directly via USB-C. It also uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, and the 12.4-inch LCD screen boasts a 2800 x 1752 resolution, supports a 120Hz refresh rate, and supports Dolby Vision. The battery capacity is 10000mAh, supporting 67W wired fast charging.
The rear camera features a 5000-megapixel wide-angle lens with a Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor, a 200-megapixel depth-of-field lens, and a 2000-megapixel video lens, which is claimed to provide better video shooting effects. It also supports facial recognition unlocking, but identity verification can also be done through a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button.
In terms of the operating interface, Xiaomi emphasized that the MIUI Pad 13 operating interface can be more compatible with the tablet user experience. At the same time, the interface is optimized with more third-party apps, allowing users to have a better user experience when operating through the tablet. It also has highly integrated stylus application functions.
The Mi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is available only in a Wi-Fi-only version, with a starting price of RMB 2999. A RMB 200 discount will be offered during the initial launch. It's currently only available in China, with no plans for a release in other markets. Xiaomi is also redesigning the Mi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 with a redesigned keyboard-style double-sided protective case and the Mi Inspiration stylus accessory.
As for the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, it is available in three colors: black, silver, and blue. It is also equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 1.5K resolution screen, LPDDR5 memory, and UFS 3.1 storage components. It has a 5000mAh battery capacity, supports 120W wired fast charging, and is equipped with a 1-megapixel camera design with optical image stabilization. The under-screen fingerprint recognition design has been added back, emphasizing the maximum overall cost-effectiveness.
In addition, Xiaomi has once again collaborated with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team to launch the Redmi K1 Champion Edition, which uses the 2022 season car color scheme.
In terms of suggested retail price, the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition will be sold at a starting price of RMB 2999, while the Redmi K50 Champion Edition will be sold at RMB 4199.
In the Mijia brand, two high-end smart home appliances are launched this time, namely the Mijia Smart Range Purifier and the Mijia Partitioned Washer and Dryer.
The former provides a high-speed cyclone smoke lock system and PM2.5 air quality monitoring. It also adopts floating gesture operation and oil-free net design. The latter is divided into a maternal and child clothing washing area in the upper half and a daily clothing washing area in the lower half. It claims to have a 99.99% sterilization and 100% mite removal effect, and provides 27 washing modes and simulates 7 hand washing effects. At the same time, the sound during operation is controlled at 48 decibels.
Both high-end smart home appliances can be connected to the Mijia app. The suggested retail price of the Mijia Smart Range Purifier is RMB 4999 (later adjusted to RMB 5999), and the suggested retail price of the Mijia Zoned Washer-Dryer is RMB 3699 (later adjusted to RMB 3999).
