Xiaomi invested RMB 24 billion to build the smart factory in Changping, Beijing, covering an area of 8.1 square meters. It has been certified as a national manufacturing benchmark factory in China and boasts of using new-generation automated processes to speed up mobile phone production efficiency. It can produce an average of 1000 million high-end flagship mobile phones annually.
The new Xiaomi Mix Fold 7, a foldable phone expected to be unveiled in July, and the Xiaomi Mix Flip, which features a vertical folding design, are both produced at the Beijing Changping Smart Factory. The latter is likely to be launched in the Taiwan market, becoming Xiaomi's first officially launched foldable phone in the Taiwanese market.
There are not many details about Xiaomi's new foldable screen phone at the moment, but Xiaomi is expected to reveal more information in the near future.
In addition to mass-producing high-end flagship smartphones at its smart factory in Changping, Beijing, Xiaomi is also currently producing electric vehicles at its smart factory in Yizhuang, Beijing, including an SUV model that is currently undergoing camouflaged testing on the streets.
