At the press conference, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun explained why many brands have launched vertically folding mobile phones, but Xiaomi has been slow to launch a similar product. The reason is that he believes that if such a mobile phone can only be transformed into a "beautiful little useless phone" through folding, there is actually still a lot of room for innovation. Therefore, Xiaomi also spent some time to conceive a better design plan for this product.
Xiaomi's idea is to allow the Xiaomi MIX Flip to perform all mobile phone operations directly through the 4.01-inch, 1.5K resolution outer screen when folded. Not only can you answer and make calls directly in the folded state, but you can also use the 3.5-inch, 16:9 display area on the right side of the outer screen to access over 200 compatible applications and services (although some apps are still not compatible). You can even input text using the full-size keyboard. The remaining space below the left camera can also be used to display desktop widgets, instant messages, and other content, making the phone look like the "small-sized mobile phone" used in the early days when folded.
Like other brands, Xiaomi also provides a virtual pet function on the external screen, and users can interact with the pet through touch, sliding, etc.
If you need more advanced use, you can unfold the phone screen and use the internal 6.86-inch screen with the same 1.5K resolution for operation. At the same time, Xiaomi also claims that the overall performance of Xiaomi MIX Flip is comparable to that of iPhone 15 Pro. It even has better game execution efficiency, stability, and heat dissipation performance than iPhone 15 Pro, and the battery life is longer. The whole machine weighs 192 grams.

Xiaomi MIX Flip will be available in black, white, purple, and a more special version with a phoenix feather fiber fabric. The suggested retail price starts at RMB 5999. Pre-orders will also be available in the Chinese market from now on, and will be launched in the international and Taiwanese markets later.
