紅米8將採用6.22吋水滴造型螢幕，解析度為1520 x 720，並且採19:9顯示比例設計，其他更採用Qualcomm Snapdragon 439處理器、提供3GB或4GB記憶體，內建儲存容量則為32GB或64GB，相機則採用800萬視訊鏡頭，並且配置1200萬畫素 (廣角)、200萬畫素 (景深)規格組合的雙鏡頭主相機，電池容量則為5000mAh，本身則支援以USB-C連接埠對應18W電池快充。
Other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, a maximum external memory card storage capacity of only 512GB, an Android 9.0 operating system, and the MIUI 10 operating system. The infrared emitting hole design is retained, allowing the Redmi 8 to control home appliances through analog means. The phone is available in three colors: black, red, and blue.
建議售價方面，紅米8搭配3GB記憶體與32GB儲存容量將以7999盧比銷售，而4GB記憶體與64GB儲存容量版本則會以8999盧比價格銷售，將會在10月12日開放印度市場銷售，預計提供前500名購機者能以7999盧比價格買到記憶體與儲存容量更大版本。
