ZTE is about to launch a phone with an under-screen camera design.AXON 20 5G, which was shown last yearIts under-screen camera design solutionXiaomi announced earlier that it has developed the third-generation under-screen camera design technology and announced that it will enter mass production next year.
According to Xiaomi, the most common under-camera lens designs currently available sacrifice overall pixel performance to hide the lens under the display. On average, only one out of every four pixels is retained for imaging, while the remaining three pixels are used to change the display structure to achieve a light-transmitting effect. This means that a 1200-megapixel lens will only produce an actual image of 300 megapixels.
Xiaomi's third-generation under-screen camera design preserves all lens pixels. By changing the pixel arrangement, light can pass through the gaps between pixels and form an image on the photosensitive element through the lens, allowing the screen to maintain the same display brightness, color accuracy, and display color gamut, while also preserving the original effective pixels of the under-screen camera.
At the same time, in order to achieve this design, Xiaomi also stated that it has redesigned the circuit design to increase the lens transmittance, and re-adjusted the software algorithm behind the camera to ensure that the captured images are clear and the colors are correct.
As for choosing to promote its under-screen camera design before ZTE is about to release the new AXON 20 5G, Xiaomi naturally hopes to highlight its own technological advantages through comparison.
