Xerox (All Records)AnnounceAcquired Lexmark for US$15 billion to expand its printer business and enter the large-size printing market.
The acquisition will enable Xerox to own Lexmark's product lines, production equipment, and channel markets, and integrate Lexmark's printer products and IoT solutions with Xerox's products and services. It will also increase the number of Xerox's cooperative customers to more than 20 in more than 170 countries around the world, with 16 manufacturing facilities in 125 countries around the world. It will also expand the entry-level, mid-to-large-scale printing market demand and strengthen the managed print service market layout.
Since Lexmark is currently the main supplier of A4-size color printing and consumables, Xerox will use it to strengthen its own printing product line, layout the large-size printing market, and strengthen the Asia-Pacific market, which has had a lower development proportion in the past.
Currently, the global printer market is dominated by HP, Epson and Canon, which account for more than 60% of the market share, while the rest is competed for by Ricoh, Brothers, Kyocera, Sharp, Konica Minolta, Samsung, Xerox and Lexmark. Therefore, Xerox announced the acquisition of Lexmark, which is expected to further strengthen its competitiveness in the printing market.
