Recently, many developers have discovered an effect in the iOS 16 test version that will dim the wallpaper. In addition, earlier, some developers discovered in the Xcode 14 beta test version that the newly added iOS 16 lock screen widget can be displayed in a translucent form. These seem to reveal that Apple is preparing to add an always-on display screen design to the new iPhone 14.
Developer @rhogelleim revealed on his personal Twitter page that he found a design in the Xcode 14 beta test version that is suspected to allow widgets to be displayed in a translucent form on the lock screen. The results previewed from the SwiftUI interface show that Apple is preparing to add an always-on display design to the upcoming iPhone 14.
Previous rumors have revealed that Apple may only provide an always-on display on iPhone 14 Pro models and above, which means that the standard iPhone 14 and the expected iPhone 14 Plus will not be equipped with this design.
Looks like the Xcode 14 beta 4 is leaking the Always on Display in the SwiftUI preview.

As for adding an always-on display design to the screen, it has been used in Samsung brand mobile phones for a long time, and has also appeared in many Android mobile phone products, making it convenient for users to check the time or important push information through their mobile phones at any time.
Apple has already used the always-on display on the Apple Watch, and iOS 16 has gradually applied the watchOS surface setting logic to the iPhone lock screen, which has led many people to speculate that Apple is preparing to add an always-on display to the iPhone 14.
