In addition to continuing to promote the Xbox Game Pass service in recent years, Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft's Xbox department, recently revealed that more third-party game works will be added to the Xbox Game Pass service in the future, allowing players to play more game content through subscription.
Currently, the Xbox Game Pass service subscription fee is US$9.9 (NT$320) per month, and for US$14.99 (NT$459) per month, you can use the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service, which includes Xbox Live Gold membership service and the Project xCloud function of Microsoft's cloud streaming service, which will become the official version in the future.
Microsoft recently stated that it hopes to serve more games on Xbox Game Pass. Many of its platform-exclusive works have already been added to the Xbox Game Pass service. Microsoft obviously hopes to attract players' attention by adding more third-party platform game content.
However, compared to trying to get more third-party games to join Xbox, if Microsoft wants more third-party games to be playable through the Xbox Game Pass service, it will have to renegotiate the cooperation model with these third-party game developers and publishers. This includes discussing how to "reasonably" split the billing part of the Xbox Game Pass service, especially with the addition of the Project xCloud cloud streaming gaming mode, which will make the billing splitting of game usage more complicated.
Currently, the Xbox Game Pass service is divided into a version that can be played on the Xbox One game console, a version that can be used through a Windows PC, and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service that includes the Xbox Live Gold membership service and the Project xCloud cloud streaming game service.
