previouslyConfirmProducts that comply with the Qi2 wireless charging specification but do not use a magnetic interface design can only use the Qi identification logo. The WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) announced earlier during CES 2025 that it would be calledNew "Qi2 Ready" certification, thereby expanding the recognition of Qi2 certification.
The Qi2 Ready certification mainly targets products that comply with the Qi2 wireless charging specification but do not adopt a magnetic interface design, that is, designs that were previously said to only be able to use the Qi identification logo.
This move is obviously intended to further increase the visibility of the Qi2 certification logo. Otherwise, with this certification logo proposed nearly two years ago, only Samsung and Google are confirmed to be included in the mobile phone products they plan to launch this year, and almost no other brands have launched devices that meet this certification.
As for the previously proposed design of adding an outer circle to the Qi2 identification mark, it has now been abandoned to avoid causing a gap in understanding among users. At the same time, it can also create a clearer positioning distinction between Qi2 and the Qi identification mark.
In addition to incorporating MagSafe into the Qi2 wireless charging standard, the Qi2 technical specification allows users to charge wirelessly at higher power (primarily increasing charging power from 10W to 15W) while also ensuring wireless charging compatibility across devices of different brands, preventing minor specification differences from causing charging issues.
