A startup founded by OpenAI CEO Sam AltmanWorld, which promotes the decentralized identity recognition method World ID, officially announced its launch in Taiwan today (5/28), to meet the needs of 91% of users for "verifying human identity."

The three main projects that make up World are World ID, which can prove on the digital network that you are a real person and not a robot or artificial intelligence; Orb, a hardware device that can create a personal World ID by scanning personal iris information; and World App, which can manage personal World ID and Worldcoin cryptocurrency.

Starting today, Taiwanese citizens can visit Taipei's first World Space to obtain a private and anonymous digitally verified World ID, allowing them to prove online that they are real and unique human beings without revealing their identity and fully protecting their privacy.

Adrian Ludwig, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Tools for Humanity, the global technology company that built World, said, "World's core values are trust and security, and we help Taiwanese people feel confident and secure online. We understand the frustration and anxiety caused by online fraud and identity theft. As Taiwan's digital maturity grows, we are committed to providing privacy-first innovation to ensure that AI applications are used to enhance, not harm, people's daily lives."

At the same time, World stated that since its establishment, it has accumulated a network of 1249 verified World IDs, and has shown significant user growth across Asia.
