President Trump, now re-elected, announced earlier on his TRUTH Social platform that he would issue an executive order extending the ban on TikTok to ensure U.S. security is not compromised through consensus. Trump also stated that he hopes any joint venture with TikTok will hold at least a 50% stake, thereby ensuring a degree of control.
Trump's statement means that TikTok services can resume operations in the United States, and Oracle and Akamai, which previously helped host TikTok's services in the United States, will not face legal problems and be fined up to billions of dollars.
However, Google and Apple have not yet restored TikTok services to their respective software stores.
