Regarding the average price increase of approximately NT$3000 for the new foldable-screen phones, Chen Qimeng said that this is mainly reflected in the new product design, which uses a more durable screen and hinge structure, and also adds more Galaxy AI user experience. At the same time, the phone has not only become more durable, but also lighter in overall weight.
In addition, Chen Qimeng also said that Samsung is currently taking a more open attitude in the Galaxy AI user experience. In addition to integrating with Google Gemini artificial intelligence technology, it also combines its ownGaussian Multimodal Large Natural Language Model (Gauss) continues to accumulate usage data with its own products and collaborates with many third-party companies to create a more unique Galaxy AI user experience.
Samsung also revealed that its Taiwan team is currently collaborating with third-party companies to provide a translation application function that can support Traditional Chinese for the Taiwanese market. This will provide more complete localized application services and can also be combined with its own product ecosystem to establish a more complete user experience, thus having more product advantages compared to other competitors.
With the launch of the Galaxy S24 series flagship phones in the first half of this year driving sales growth, Samsung stated that while the overall mobile phone market in Taiwan grew by 12%, its own mobile phone sales also grew by 7-8%, with products priced above US$600 growing by more than 15%.
