Western Digital announced that it will update its SanDisk and WD_BLACK brand flash memory storage solutions, launching the SanDisk Extreme PRO USB4 high-performance mobile solid-state drive, 8TB SanDisk Extreme mobile solid-state drive, WD_BLACK SN7100 NVMe SSD and 2TB WD_BLACK C50 Xbox expansion card.
This product update is mainly aimed at users who need higher access efficiency, reliability, and larger storage capacity.
Among them, the SanDisk Extreme PRO USB4 high-performance mobile solid-state drive corresponds to the USB4 connection interface and also supports Intel Thunderbolt 4 connection specifications, corresponding to a read speed of up to 3800MB per second and a write speed of up to 3700MB per second. It uses a silicone shell and forged aluminum body to protect data. It also supports IP65-level waterproof and dustproof design, as well as accidental drop protection of up to two meters. It is expected to be launched in Taiwan in the second half of this year.
The 8TB SanDisk Extreme mobile solid-state drive is suitable for users who need to create large files, back up data at any time, or carry a large database. It provides read speeds of up to 1050MB per second and write speeds of up to 1000MB per second. The suggested retail price is NT$26980 and it is now available in the Taiwan market.
The WD_BLACK SN7100 NVMe SSD adopts a PCIe Gen 4×4 design and uses Western Digital's latest TLC 3D NAND technology, providing data read speeds of up to 7250MB per second and write speeds of up to 6900MB/s per second, a performance improvement of up to 35% over the previous generation SSD. It is mainly designed for game live streaming, speed racing, using the latest game engines for creation, and players who frequently write and delete large amounts of data. The suggested retail price starts at NT$2180, and the 4TB version will not be officially launched until 2026.
As for the storage needs of the Xbox One X|S series game consoles, Western Digital has also launched the 2TB WD_BLACK C50 Xbox expansion card, which is compatible with Microsoft's Xbox Velocity architecture and Quick Resume function, and provides higher access efficiency and higher storage capacity. It also comes with an additional one-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate experience and a Discord Nitro trial offer. The suggested retail price is NT$11490.
