Following last year’s announcement to expand the “Mobile + Consumption” operating model,WeMo Pick-Up ServiceLater, WeMo Scooter, a shared scooter platform service provider, announced today (August 8) the launch of its sub-brand "WeMo RenTour". It will use its smart car networking technology to integrate cross-brand rental vehicles, combining options such as cars, scooters, and electric bicycles, breaking the traditional single-brand shared vehicle usage model and thereby building a larger-scale shared transportation platform.
WeMo Group Chairman Wu Dongming stated that WeMo Scooter aims not only to provide scooter sharing services but also to become a technology solutions provider, leveraging its technology to expand the scale of the sharing platform. The launch of the sub-brand, "WeMo RenTour," leverages its shared technology to meet diverse vehicle usage needs, enabling cross-brand sharing services that cater to diverse vehicle needs.
The vehicles joining the sub-brand "WeMo RenTour" service include the Candy 3.0 model currently used by WeMo Scooter in cooperation with Kymco, the Zhonghua eMoving Shine, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and models from the electric bicycle brand Tern Bicycles. By the end of this year, it is planned to add models provided by the rental company Xiaoma Car Rental, allowing users to make advance reservations for rental vehicles through the WeMo app, and specify the rental and return locations, as well as the estimated time of use of the vehicle.
By including a variety of rental models, WeMo Scooter expects to simplify users' travel vehicle needs through diversified transportation. In the future, it also plans to cooperate with more operators to expand the scale of shared transportation.
Currently, "WeMo RenTour" will first be deployed in Kinmen, an outlying island of Taiwan, and is expected to expand to more locations in the future.
