Waymo launches new enterprise-only service, launching first in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix

The newly launched enterprise solution allows companies to integrate Waymo's self-driving fleet in a more systematic way. Through a dedicated management portal, businesses can create commuting plans, arrange for guests and employees to travel to venues, and even use it for event transfers, creating a more flexible transportation resource. Waymo has also built budget management and ride data reporting into the platform to help companies better understand usage and adjust scale based on demand.

Compared to typical consumer ride-hailing services, this service emphasizes plannability and manageability, signaling Waymo's entry into the high-frequency, high-demand enterprise market. For companies that regularly schedule large volumes of travel, this self-driving fleet service has the potential to reduce reliance on traditional taxis or ride-hailing platforms while also potentially lowering long-term transportation costs.

However, Waymo currently considers "Waymo for Business" to be in its initial rollout phase, and future features and models may be adjusted based on the actual needs of enterprise customers. As companies of varying sizes and industries adopt the technology, Waymo will have more opportunities to test how to integrate self-driving cars into daily operations.

2025 is shaping up to be a very positive year for Waymo. In addition to the newly launched enterprise solution, Waymo plans to launch tests in ten new cities this year, continuing to expand its operations. In July of this year, it launched a "Teen Account" feature for younger users, allowing parents to confidently allow their children to use self-driving services. Regarding geographic expansion, Waymo has set its sights on Nashville for 2026, demonstrating the company's continued acceleration in its penetration strategy across the US.

This expansion reflects the gradual progress of self-driving technology toward large-scale commercial application. If its enterprise-side services gain positive market feedback, Waymo is expected to embark on another growth trajectory in the near term, complementing its existing individual user market. For Waymo, this is not just about providing more ride-hailing services, but about further transforming self-driving technology into a reliable infrastructure for business operations.

Of course, challenges remain. Besides meeting regulatory requirements and testing requirements in various cities, Waymo must also continuously address how to ensure safety, reliability, and cost control in large-scale operations. However, one thing is certain: with the gradual implementation of initiatives like "Waymo for Business," self-driving cars are gradually transforming from a science fiction blueprint into a practical solution that can be relied upon in various daily and business scenarios.
