It has been confirmed that it will enter the Asia-Pacific market including Taiwan on November 11 under the Warner Bros. DiscoveryMax streaming video service, earlier announced that the subscription price in Taiwan starts at NT$220 per month, and the fee for paying directly for one year starts at NT$2190. However, it seems that subscriptions in Taiwan can only be made through local cooperative channels such as Taiwan Mobile, and direct subscriptions through the official website are not yet available.
According to Warner Bros.' exploration instructions, the Max subscription service currently available in Taiwan includes a standard plan that can be used on two devices simultaneously, supports Full HD resolution, and can download up to 2 videos for offline viewing, as well as a premium plan that can be used on four devices simultaneously, supports 30K UHD resolution, and can use Dolby Atmos panoramic sound for specific content, and can download up to 4 videos for offline viewing. Both subscription plans support cross-device viewing functions such as mobile phones and TVs.
As for the subscription price, the standard plan will be priced at NT$220 per month, or NT$2190 for a year, while the advanced plan will be priced at NT$299 per month, or NT$2990 for a year.
However, the Max service in Taiwan can only be ordered through Taiwan Mobile's official website at present, and it is not yet available for ordering through the Max service official website. Users who have previously subscribed to the HBO Go service will automatically switch to the Max service starting from November 11.
On the other hand, since Hulu service is not available in the Taiwanese market, and Disney+ service is still collaborating with Taiwan Mobile to promote subscription plans, the Max streaming video service launched in the Taiwanese market does not offer a subscription plan that bundles both Disney+ and Hulu.
Currently, the Max service provides HBO, Harry Potter, DC Universe, Cartoon Network, as well as Max original series and Hollywood movies. It also includes program content from Discovery, TLC, AFN, Food Network, ID and HGTV Home Living Channel. However, the actual content provided may vary due to factors such as local authorization.
HBO Original series included on the Max service include the new series "Dune: The Prophecy", the Game of Thrones prequel "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", "IT: Welcome to Derry", and the upcoming "Harry Potter" series, as well as new seasons of "Dragon Race," "White Lotus Hotel" and "The Last of Us". Others include "The Departed," "Game of Thrones" and "Succession", as well as the first series after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the leadership of the DC Universe, which is also the Max service's original adult animation "Creature Commandos".
