Earlier, Volkswagen showcased its upcoming entry-level electric vehicle, the ID.EVERY1, at an event in Wolfsburg, Germany. Designed for the mass market, the vehicle offers a smart and flexible user experience while also emphasizing its reasonable price.
The car on display is still designed in concept form, and the technology behind it may come from Volkswagen's cooperation with Volkswagen.RivianVolkswagen plans to officially launch the mass-produced version in 2027, with an expected price of 2 euros (approximately NT$70).
In addition to the ID.EVERY1, Volkswagen plans to launch at least four affordable, entry-level electric vehicles with front-wheel drive designs by 2027 (including the ID.EVERY1), aiming to make electric vehicles more accessible. Similar companies, including Tesla and Foxconn's MIH, are also planning to launch affordable electric vehicles to compete with Chinese brands in the price segment.
The ID.EVERY1 is equipped with an electric drive motor with a power output of 70kW (approximately 94 horsepower), which can produce an acceleration performance of over 80 miles per hour (approximately 130 kilometers per hour), and the maximum electric driving range can reach over 155 miles (approximately 250 kilometers). The body adopts a compact design and can accommodate 4 passengers (including the driver), with a cargo volume of approximately 10.8 cubic feet (approximately 0.31 cubic meters).
However, Volkswagen currently only plans to offer the ID.EVERY1 in the European market and has no plans to offer it in other markets such as the United States.
