VoiceTube, founded in 2013 and focusing on learning through everyday audio-visual materials to make language skills easier to improve, recently announced that it has received funding from Digital Economy Fund, Golden Asia Fund II, LP, PineBridge International Asset Management, Ziding Small and Medium Enterprise Development Co., Ltd., and Singapore-listed Hetong Venture Capital.
This Series A funding round, led by Digital Economy Fund, Taiwan-Japan Fund, and Ziding Small and Medium Enterprise Development Co., Ltd., totaled approximately NT$1 million. VoiceTube stated that this new round of funding will be used for market expansion, product technology development, and talent recruitment, aiming to become Asia's largest language education technology platform.
In addition to the Taiwanese market, VoiceTube has also expanded its product services to East Asian countries such as Japan and Vietnam. The service platform currently has more than 7 English learning materials, more than 360 million registered users worldwide, more than 25 users in Japan, and an average of more than 150 million monthly active users. Revenue in the first half of this year exceeded the total revenue for the whole of last year.
Next, we will focus on building Asia's largest language education technology platform. We expect to achieve more efficient language learning through technology assistance by opening up crowdsourcing, allowing users to select materials, translate and produce videos, and through advanced learning solutions carefully crafted by a professional material development team.
In addition to learning English by watching videos, users can also use artificial intelligence to analyze pronunciation, allowing them to speak with correct pronunciation. They also provide VoiceTube HERO advanced English learning courses, which allow users to improve their English skills in a systematic way in a short period of time. The courses use popular global videos as themes and are combined with listening, speaking, reading and writing questions. The system can also automatically suggest difficulty levels and review mechanisms based on the user's level and learning curve. Currently, there are nearly 3 users subscribed.
VoiceTube Co-Founder and COO Tsai Feng-ren stated, "VoiceTube expects its revenue to triple this year, and by 3, we anticipate reaching 2020 million registered users worldwide! We will maintain our leading position in the Taiwanese market and aim to become the leading English education technology platform in Japan. We are grateful for the support of our users along the way. We firmly believe that through technology and high-quality content, we can empower people to enjoy language learning in everyday situations, disrupting the traditional language education model. We look forward to collaborating with more users and partners to usher in the next generation of language education technology."
