Regarding the announcement at VMware Explore 2025Upgrade to Tanzu platform solution version 10.3, and added the new VMware Tanzu Data Intelligence service. Burt Toma, head of product management and marketing for Broadcom's Tanzu business, said that this update of the Tanzu platform mainly focuses on three aspects: management, security and AI applications, and maintains the lightweight use features of simple management and rapid deployment, allowing enterprises and developers to quickly deploy modern application services including AI.

Compared to the usage models of similar services in the market such as Snowflake and Databricks, Burt Toma emphasized that the Tanzu platform can not only be applied in public cloud environments, but its greater advantage is that it can be built in private cloud environments, thereby corresponding to a user experience with greater data privacy and security, while retaining greater deployment flexibility.
The newly added Tanzu Data Intelligence service is designed specifically for current AI application service development trends. It allows enterprises or developers to more easily and effectively control the security of private data usage when deploying AI application services. It also supports data correlation tracking to ensure application service compliance and operational transparency, avoid the risk of data leakage caused by AI application services, and enhance data governance in the AI era.
On the other hand, VMware will continue to enhance the usability and data security of the Tanzu platform, allowing enterprises and developers to use this platform with greater peace of mind to build various AI application services.

Add a quick start toolkit to enable more companies to easily build AI services
Regarding the AI Starter Kit, released simultaneously, Burt Toma explained that it's primarily designed for businesses lacking sufficient IT skills and development staff but seeking to connect with current AI application development. It allows teams new to the Tanzu platform to quickly build an AI foundation and deploy their first AI application. Even businesses using older versions of the platform can use it to quickly evaluate AI application capabilities without requiring a full upgrade.
Burt Toma stated that the goal of developing the Tanzu platform is to simplify enterprise management complexity and enable developers to deploy application services more quickly while ensuring data security. This, in turn, reduces the risk of data leakage and improper use amid the current trend of generative AI applications.
