Announced the launch of a new mobile operating system in 2020Origin OSLater, at its developer conference, vivo announced the launch of its proprietary Blue River Operating System (BlueOS) for wearable devices, touting its ability to prevent security vulnerabilities caused by improper memory usage. Additionally, vivo announced the release of OriginOS 4 for mobile devices, highlighting the integration of its large-scale natural language model, the Blue Heart Large Model (BlueLM), to support various automatically generated artificial intelligence applications and services.
Developed in Rust, BlueRiver OS can run on CPUs as low as 200Hz and 32MB of RAM, or on CPUs running at up to 4GHz and up to 24GB of RAM. It also connects to smart home applications through a distributed architecture called BlueXlink, supporting mainstream connectivity standards. It is expected to be first implemented in the new vivo Watch 3 smartwatch, which will be released in mid-November alongside the new flagship X100 series smartphones.
OriginOS 4 integrates vivo's own "Blue Heart Model", which can correspond to 10 billion, 70 billion, 700 billion, 1300 billion or 1750 billion sets of parameter operation modes. Vivo said that this large natural language model can be used in the cloud or on the device, and corresponds to natural conversation, question and answer, or semantic understanding, automatic content generation and other applications.
Vivo has upgraded its OriginOS digital assistant service, "Xiao V," to "Blue Heart Xiao V," leveraging the "Blue Heart Big Model," enabling more automated interactions. Additionally, Vivo has also released an external app called "Blue Heart Qianxun." This app, accessible to users beyond Vivo phones, is likely intended to attract more users to train their data, further enhancing the accuracy of the "Blue Heart Big Model."
In other aspects, OriginOS 4 adds a personalized screen lock screen, and a parking assistant function provided in cooperation with Baidu, AutoNavi Maps and other industries (only applicable to the Chinese market), as well as fraud prevention, elderly care, and helping visually impaired people "see" through cameras and artificial intelligence.
OriginOS 4 is expected to open for public beta testing at the end of December this year. The first wave of models eligible for installation and testing include the X12 series, X Fold 90, X Flip, and iQOO 2 series. The upgrade will be accelerated to models including X11 and iQOO 60 later.
In addition, at this developer conference, vivo also confirmed that it will be the first to be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor.X100 series flagship phone, will be presented at the Beijing Water Cube at 11 pm on November 13.
