After many previews, vivo finally unveiled its next-generation NEX 3 flagship phone. It features a dual-sided curved "waterfall screen" with a curvature approaching 90 degrees, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, and 44W fast charging.
The emphasis on the "waterfall screen" design is, to some extent, a technological promotion. In fact, the operation is not much different from that of a normal double-sided curved screen. However, from the front, it can indeed make the phone closer to the "borderless" visual experience on the left and right, but it may be somewhat prone to accidental touches with the fingertips.
It is not yet certain whether vivo will provide any extended applications for the dual-sided curved screen with a "waterfall screen" design, but at this stage it is obviously still mainly aimed at creating topics, and whether it is practical may be a matter of opinion.
In terms of hardware specifications, the NEX 3 uses a 2256-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 6.89, emphasizing a brightness of up to 800 nits, and supports 100% P3 and sRGB color gamut coverage. It also supports HDR 10 display effects. As for the glass, it does not use the currently popular Corning Gorilla Glass, but uses German Schott Xensation Up glass, which also emphasizes its drop resistance and protection properties.
In addition, the processor uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ computing platform, equipped with 8GB or 12GB of memory, and 128GB or 256GB of storage capacity, and distinguishes between 4G LTE and 5G connection versions. The antenna adopts a new design that can improve the reception quality and further narrow the bottom edge of the body.
The full-size screen design is also due to the use of a pop-up lens and an under-screen fingerprint sensor. The lens can be raised and lowered in 0.65 seconds, and the under-screen fingerprint sensor area has been increased by 25% compared to the previous model. The power button and volume button are both pressure-sensitive, using seven sets of sensors built into the frame to identify single presses, continuous presses, and accidental touches. The built-in vibration motor also generates a "tactile sensation." The power button has a textured surface for easy identification.
The camera module features a 1600-megapixel video sensor, while the main camera utilizes a Samsung ISOCELL GW1 6400-megapixel sensor, a 1300-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 1300x optical zoom lens, also 2 megapixels. According to Vivo, the design of the main camera lens module was inspired by mechanical watches, but it's clear that many smartphone manufacturers have adopted this design.
Other parts include a built-in AK4377A Hi-Fi audio chip, a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 44mAh battery design that supports 4500W fast charging, but still does not have a wireless charging function. The operating system is Funtouch OS 9.0 based on Android 9.1, and it can provide a Google Duplex-like artificial intelligence answering function through the built-in digital assistant service Jovi, which is claimed to help users answer the call content.
vivo預計以人民幣5698元與6198元價格銷售NEX 3 5G連網版本,而4G版本則以人民幣4998元銷售,分別推出深藍與銀色兩款設計。
The first true wireless earbuds powered by Qualcomm QCC5126 processor were unveiled simultaneously
In addition to NEX 3, vivo also simultaneously launched the first true wireless headset TWS Earphone using the Qualcomm QCC5126 processor. The headset is advertised to be able to be used continuously for 4 hours on a single charge. With the charging box, charging for 15 minutes can provide 2 hours of power. The suggested retail price is RMB 999.
