US telecom operators recently announced that they will launch 4G network service in Chicago, Illinois, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, starting April 11th of this year. The service is expected to expand to nearly 5 cities nationwide by the end of the year. Verizon also confirmed that monthly rates will be approximately $30 higher than existing 4G network rates. Based on Verizon's current 10G network rates, unlimited 4G service will cost up to $5, or approximately NT$105.

Verizon's current 4G network service plans are categorized into three types: Go Unlimited, Beyond Unlimited, and Above Unlimited, depending on the network bandwidth and high-speed bandwidth transmission volume. The prices for a single number are US$75, US$85, and US$95, respectively. Additional discounts are available as the number of numbers subscribed increases. For example, if four family members jointly subscribe to the highest-priced plan, the monthly fee for each number is only US$4.

而就Verizon說明5G網路服務資費將比現有4G網路資費增加10美元,意味每月資費將分別為85美元、95美元與105美元。

Currently, Verizon will sell the Moto Z5, a mobile phone that already supports 3G network services, together with its Moto Mod modular accessories that support 5G networking functions. It is also expected to add the first wave of 5G network-connected mobile phones, including Samsung, and wireless network routers that support 5G network services, so that existing 4G mobile phones can also use 5G network speeds to access the Internet through Wi-Fi connections.

However, although Verizon has confirmed that it will first launch 5G network services in Chicago and Minneapolis, the 5G network coverage in downtown Chicago only includes The Loop, Magnificent Mile, The Gold Coast, River North, and Old Town, where 5G network service signals can be received. If you leave these coverage areas, you can only connect to the Internet with 4G network signals, or even access content at 3G network speeds.

In addition to Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile also plan to launch 5G network services in the United States, but currently only AT&TAnnounced before the end of last yearService applications are available in Houston, Texas, Jacksonville, Florida, Louisville, Kentucky, New Orleans, Louisiana, and San Antonio, Texas, as well as Atlanta, Georgia, Charlotte, North Carolina, Raleigh, North Carolina, Dallas, Texas, Waco, Texas, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Netgear's Nighthawk 5G Mobile Hotspot network router converts 5G network signals into Wi-Fi, allowing existing 4G phones to connect to the Internet.

According to AT&T, it plans to continue to promote 2019G network services in Las Vegas, Nevada, Los Angeles, California, San Diego, California, San Francisco, California, San Jose, California, Nashville, Tennessee, and Orlando, Florida in the first half of 5.
