The Pope of the Vatican recently announced a collaboration with Santa Clara University research institute through the newly established Institute of Technology, Ethics and Culture (ITEC)140-page instruction manual, providing detailed guidance on ethical and moral issues related to the current development of artificial intelligence technology.
This guidebook provides detailed guidance on the details of various types of artificial intelligence work. It is not just filled with conceptual and principled guidance, but hopes that technology companies developing artificial intelligence technology or corporate executives applying artificial intelligence technology can understand the relevant impacts and develop in a way that is in line with human interests.
The 140-page manual covers artificial intelligence applications, machine learning, encryption, privacy data tracking, and facial recognition.
In proposing the guidance manual, the Vatican emphasized that it does not want to control the application and development of artificial intelligence technology, but rather hopes that when applying such technology, businesses can incorporate a sense of responsibility for human development and well-being, avoid using artificial intelligence technology for personal gain, and also avoid excessive pursuit of artificial intelligence technology development that affects human safety.
