Valve earlier updated its developersRelated specifications, it will be explicitly prohibited to introduce a design mechanism on the Steam service platform that allows players to watch advertisements or participate in related advertisement interactions to obtain additional rewards.
Similar designs often appear in most mobile games, but they often appear in a form that interferes with visuals and operations, forcing players to manually close them or patiently wait for the ad to end. Players may even interact with the ad content for specific rewards (such as ad-free viewing, extra play time, props, etc.).
In order to prevent the listing of games on the Steam platform from affecting the players' gaming experience, Valve requires that games listed on the Steam platform should avoid importing such design mechanisms. If the game has been previously released on other platforms and has imported similar design mechanisms, it must be removed before being listed on the Steam platform.
However, Valve stated that it is still acceptable to place advertisements, promote products or brands in games, but the prerequisite is that they cannot interfere with the player's gameplay. Therefore, if they are presented as game backgrounds, situations, or characters wearing clothes, they are all within the acceptable range.
