Announced during GDC 3 in March of this yearRe-adjusted Steam service interface messagesLater, Valve introduced the game through a closed-door presentation at the PAX Game Show in Seattle.New version of Steam game library interface design, claiming to make it easier for players to discover new games, more easily communicate their ideas to developers, and even enhance online community interaction.
The new interface will make it easier for players to find the right game through tags and 6-second short videos. Tags not only refine search results but also allow players to filter out unnecessary results. The columns will also enhance communication between developers and players, allowing developers to attract players through game updates and additional downloadable content. Introductory pages will also highlight recent additions and announce limited-time events. Translations can also be uploaded to help local players understand the announcements.
Valve says the new interface will make it easier for players to stay updated on the latest gaming content. It will also allow players to interact with their friends online and see what games they're playing, allowing them to discover more suitable games. Furthermore, filtering will make it easier for players to customize the content displayed, avoiding unnecessary information.
Prior to this, Valve had already provided a test of a game collection library function called Steam events on September 9, allowing developers and players to manage content in a more flexible way. It also plans to use a function called Deep Dive to make it easier for players to follow their favorite games and keep track of related developments.
The new version of the game library is now open to players for testing. By turning on the client beta version through the Steam settings option, you can join the test of the new version of the game library and also be the first to get more new features.
