Acer previously built a sustainableVero Series Products, and now it has been further extended to Chromebook models. The Chromebook Vero 514 announced earlier boasts high repairability and is designed with a large amount of recyclable materials.
The Chromebook Vero 514 features a 14-inch screen and is made from 30% recycled materials. The internal fan housing and OceanGlass touchpad are both made from recycled plastic from the ocean, while the housing emphasizes durability. The keyboard keys and speakers are made from over 50% recycled materials.
In terms of hardware specifications, the Chromebook Vero 514 is equipped with Intel's 12th-generation Core series processor, and the screen resolution corresponds to 1080P specifications. At the same time, the body is designed with the US military-standard protection certification MIL-STD-810H, which can withstand a vertical drop impact of 1.2 meters. The laptop is also fixed with standard screws, which is convenient for users to repair themselves and reduces the difficulty of repair and disassembly.
In terms of connection ports, the Chromebook Vero 514 has 2 USB-C ports, 1 USB-A port, and HDMI 2.0 output. The network connection supports Wi-Fi 6E specifications. As for the battery life, it can reach 10 hours, and it also supports fast charging performance of charging 30% in 50 minutes.
Acer plans to officially launch the Chromebook Vero 10 in October this year, with a suggested retail price starting at $514.
