Intel today (July 7) showcased commercial laptops and workstations equipped with the vPro platform from multiple brands in Taiwan, emphasizing enhanced information security compared to products launched four years ago. At the same time, by integrating Wi-Fi 4 (Gig+), Bluetooth LE Audio, Thinderbolt 4, and ICPS (Intel Connectivity Performance Suite) connectivity solutions, they ensure a more comprehensive user experience for commercial models.
The next-generation vPro platform differentiates between the standard vPro Essentials and the advanced vPro Enterprise version, which incorporates hardware-based Intel AMT active management capabilities and Intel EMA terminal management assistance software, enabling remote management. It even offers vPro Enterprise for Chrome OS for Chromebooks, extending the vPro platform design to more commercial models to meet the deployment and application needs of businesses of all sizes.
Intel emphasized that models designed with the vPro platform have hardware protection technology that can be used out of the box, which can resist malware attacks from the moment the computer is turned on, and provide more complete device protection at the hardware level. It can also resist malicious attacks at the firmware level, including mining hijacking, ransomware and other attacks.
In addition, Intel has also updated the Microsoft Windows 11 22H2 operating system version, allowing the use of Intel Total Memory Encryption-Multi-Key function corresponding to multiple key encryption on vPro Enterprise-level models. It also plans to add Intel VT with Redirect Protection technology to the Windows 11 23H2 update to ensure virtualization security.
The new generation of vPro platform models are also designed with Intel's 13th generation Core series platform processors. By using P-Core performance cores and E-Core energy-saving cores, combined with Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology, they can achieve a better balance between device computing performance and battery life. They also have Intel Evo platform design certification, support fast charging and fast wake-up, and an average battery life of more than 9.5 hours.
As for the user experience, Intel emphasizes that the new generation of vPro platform models support Wi-Fi Sensing, which can identify whether the user is near a laptop or workstation, and has added support for Bluetooth LE Audio technology. It can improve sound transmission quality through the LC3 low-complexity communication codec and ultra-wideband, and reduce device power consumption and sound transmission latency. At the same time, it can also expand peripheral accessories in a simpler form through Thunderbolt 4, and can also simultaneously recharge the device.
Currently, brands including Acer, ASUS, Dell, Dynabook, HP, Lenovo and MSI have launched commercial laptops and workstations equipped with Intel's 13th-generation Core series platform processors and integrated with the new generation vPro platform design. They expect to launch more than 170 products this year to meet the needs of different work applications.
