As 2025 draws to a close, Uber recently released its "2025 Year-End Review" big data for Taiwanese users. Besides showing where they went throughout the year, the data also revealed some interesting phenomena: it turns out Taiwanese people love using Uber when traveling to Japan, and one user from Tainan took over 2000 rides in a year, averaging about 5.5 rides per day – truly a Uber super VIP.
Prior to this, Uber had already launched in the United States. The annual review feature called "YOUBER"It not only tracks the number of rides a user has taken and where they have been in the past year, but also the number of times a user has ordered food delivery through Uber Eats. It also provides similar annual statistics in Taiwan.
Annual Crazy People List: Tainan residents are the best at riding; Taipei residents head straight to Kaohsiung
Uber statistics show that Taiwanese users have remarkably high engagement, accumulating over 1 million star reviews throughout 2025. Regarding extreme individual data, two records are particularly astonishing:
• Rider of the Year:A user from Tainan completed more than 2000 trips in a year.
• Annual Long-Distance King:The longest one-way trip exceeded 500 kilometers, traveling directly from Taipei to Kaohsiung. Although the exact fare is unknown, it was definitely an impressive journey.
Tourism and environmental protection are becoming increasingly important: Japan's ride-hailing service is leading the way, and low-carbon vehicles are gaining popularity.
In terms of vehicle selection, the "Standard Elite Uber" remains the most popular choice. However, it is worth noting that the "Carbon-Reduced Uber" and "All-Electric Comfort Uber" have jumped to second place on the popularity list, indicating that Taiwanese people (or business travelers) are paying more and more attention to sustainable mobility, while the "Uber Taxi" is in third place.
Furthermore, the Uber app has become an indispensable travel companion for Taiwanese people traveling abroad. Statistics show that the top three countries where Taiwanese users most frequently call for rides overseas are Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong. This indicates that in countries where language is not spoken, ride-hailing apps that allow users to directly enter their destination and avoid communication remain the preferred choice for travelers.
In terms of local tourism in Taiwan, in addition to metropolitan areas, Pingtung, Yilan, and Nantou are the three regions with the highest year-on-year growth rate of trips in 2025; the newly launched "Uber XXL" (extra-large six-seater) saw a 30% increase in usage on weekends compared to weekdays, reflecting the strong demand for group travel.
