For young people ridingProvide corresponding servicesLater, Uber also announced earlier that it would target the elderly.Provide dedicated version service, making it easier for the elderly to use through a simpler interface design.
In the special version of the service provided for the elderly, the interface font size is mainly enlarged, the operation complexity is reduced, and a more intuitive design is provided, so that the elderly or people with mild visual impairments can use Uber services more easily.
In addition, relatives and caregivers can help seniors book rides, adjust payment methods, and confirm trips. Family members can also track their seniors' ride status and receive text notifications upon arrival. In cases of emergency, such as in the event of an accident, relatives or caregivers can directly contact the driver providing the ride.
Other convenient features include allowing seniors to save frequently visited places, such as hospitals, clinics, stations, etc. At the same time, the payment method can also accept prepaid benefit cards provided by the US Medicare federal insurance, which cover the transportation costs when seeking medical treatment.
However, compared to its competitor Lyft, which provides a "Lyft Silver" service for seniors that makes it easier for them to get on and off, making their ride more comfortable, Uber has not yet provided similar services for the elderly.
Currently, Uber's senior version service will be available in the US market first, and will later be available in global markets including Taiwan, Hong Kong, India (only simple interface adjustments are expected to be provided initially), Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Portugal, France, and South Africa. It is also expected that adjustments to service details will be made for each regional market at that time.
