To meet the demand for travel during the end-of-year holidays in the United States, Uber announced the launch of a new, more spacious ride service in the United States.UberXXL, allowing users to ride in the vehicle more comfortably while also providing extra space for more carry-on luggage.
UberXXL offers a larger ride space than the previously launched UberXL service, and its pricing is between UberXL and the premium black car service Uber Black. The fee will be prepaid through the App when making a reservation.
UberXXL will initially be available at 40 airports in the United States and Canada, including New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, O'Hare International Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Miami International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The service will later be available at more than 50 airports worldwide.
In addition, Uber has also launched a service called UberX Share at airports such as Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Denver International Airport, Newark Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, Miami International Airport, New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in the United States. Passengers can share the ride space with other passengers in the form of UberX services, thereby saving up to 25% of the cost. Even if they are unable to share the ride with others, they will still be provided with a lower price.
Other updates include Uber Reserve, which allows users to plan their ride reservations in advance based on their expected flight times, adjust their ride reservation times if their flight is delayed, or add multiple stops when setting up a ride.
Uber Shuttle, which previously launched in New York and uses Uber's ride-hailing service as a "shuttle bus," is now adding routes that stop at the World Trade Center, Midtown Manhattan, and Penn Station, as well as to and from LaGuardia Airport, with the same fare of $18.
As for the update to the iPhone version of the App, it is in response to the launch of a new desktop widget in the new version of the iOS operating system, allowing users to more conveniently and directly click to book a ride.
