Uber announced the launch of a "Return a Package" feature in more than 4950 cities in the United States, allowing users to use Uber services to help deliver online purchases to local post offices, UPS or FedEx service locations, making it more convenient to complete online purchase returns.
This service is derived from Uber's Connect cargo delivery function, which has been launched for at least three years. The acceptable delivery packages are only for return packages of online purchases that are well packaged and do not require any shipping fees.
The service fee is a flat $5, but users who join Uber One can pay just $3. Furthermore, users can use this service to drop off online purchases at a local post office, UPS, or FedEx location. When returning online purchases, users can also track the delivery status of their packages in real time through Uber.
Currently, this service is only available in the US market. Users can choose to use it through Uber or Uber Eats. It is not yet confirmed whether the same service will be provided in other countries and regions.
However, Uber is not the first to provide this service. Companies including DoorDash have actually launched similar services, allowing users to more easily return online purchases through third-party services.
