Twitch earlier added 2K (1440P) resolution and vertical screen live broadcast format options to its live broadcast function, and also announced that it will add a live content replay function to increase the flexibility of Twitch live broadcast.
Twitch CEO Dan Clancy earlier at TwitchCon EuropeAnnounceMore live streaming application functions will be added to Twitch, including a 2K resolution live streaming option, which will allow live streamers to present live content with clearer images. It uses the new version of HEVC codec technology, allowing live content to present higher image quality with lower bit rates while reducing network bandwidth.
The addition of a vertical live broadcast format even allows live streamers to broadcast in both horizontal and vertical formats simultaneously, which means that live streamers can have greater flexibility in their live broadcast presentations, thereby competing with more services such as TikTok, YouTube Short or Instagram Reels that also support vertical content presentations, while also attracting more viewers.
In addition, Twitch will also provide the option to replay after the live broadcast ends, allowing more supporting fans to watch the live broadcast host's recent live content later.
The new feature will be available for testing on a limited number of channels starting this summer, and is expected to be available to more accounts later this year. 2K live streaming will first be available to all partners and alliance members, and is expected to be available to live streamers later.
