Kodak's recentAnnounce, which will revitalize its equipment that was previously used to produce traditional 35mm film and will be used to assist in the production of materials for batteries used in electric vehicles.
According to Kodak, since the production process used by Wildcat Discovery Technologies, an electric vehicle battery manufacturer in which it is currently invested, in producing Supercell batteries is similar to the process Kodak originally used to produce 35mm film, it plans to modify the production equipment so that it can be used to produce materials for electric vehicle batteries.
In an interview, Kodak's current CEO Jim Continenza said that the film production equipment, originally worth about $7000 million to $8000 million, would be sold for $200 million. However, it was later discovered that the film manufacturing process was similar to the production method of electric vehicle battery materials. The existing production equipment could be reused through simple modifications, thereby becoming a new development business for Kodak.
Kodak has already started working with Wildcat Discovery Technologies to enter the battery market, which has huge development potential.
It turns out the processes for manufacturing film and battery components have much in common. pic.twitter.com/8YfRoncg9Z
