Announced earlier this year during CES 2023Expand the product offerings of its smart home brand TapoAfterwards, TP-Link announced today (August 8) the launch of new products in the Tapo smart home series in Taiwan, including a smart video doorbell, a motion sensor, a smart contact sensor, two smart temperature and humidity sensors, two smart buttons, and a smart gateway.
Among them, the TP-Link D230S1 smart video doorbell is equipped with a camera lens with a 163° viewing angle, which can capture visitors or situations in front of the camera within 1 meter. It even has full-color night vision function and 2K resolution image performance. It can also automatically identify the movements of people, objects or vehicles through artificial intelligence algorithms, and can connect to calls through the app.
Battery-powered, it requires no additional wiring and boasts an IP64-rated waterproof design. If the camera is tampered with or blocked, a built-in alarm sounds, and the event is synced to the app for notifications. When used with the Tapo H200 Smart Gateway, the camera footage can be saved, even if the video doorbell is vandalized.
The smart home devices introduced to the Taiwanese market also include the Tapo T100 motion sensor and the T110 smart contact sensor, allowing users to automatically connect with the gateway and other smart home devices. For example, they can automatically turn on lights by detecting human movement or determine whether doors and windows are securely closed. When combined with the Tapo T310 and T315 smart temperature and humidity sensors, they can automatically activate home fans, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, and other devices based on temperature and humidity changes. The T315 even uses an e-ink screen to reduce power consumption, providing up to two years of battery life.
The Tapo S200B and Tapo S200D smart buttons offer single-press, double-press, or left-right knob operation to meet various lighting control and dimming needs. They can also be used as emergency alarms in conjunction with a gateway and app. The Tapo H200 smart gateway can connect to 64 smart home devices and an additional 4 cameras or video doorbells.
TP-Link plans to introduce further smart door lock products in Taiwan by the end of this year or early next year. However, the smart home devices introduced to the Taiwanese market do not yet support the universal IoT protocol Matter.
