Qualcomm announced earlierThe Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor is targeted at mid-range devices, while the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor is used for entry-level devices., and also adopted a new naming method.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor is built with a 4nm process and it has not been announced whether it is mass-produced by TSMC or Samsung technology, but many people previously believed thatBuilt with TSMC processAt the same time, it was only announced that it would maintain an 8-core configuration, and the specific core architecture design has not been disclosed. The microphone can reach 2.2GHz when operating, the CPU computing performance is increased by 40%, and the GPU display performance is increased by 35%. It is equipped with a 12-bit Spectra Triple image processing component, which can correspond to up to 2 million pixel lenses.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor also integrates the 7th generation Snapdragon AIE artificial intelligence engine to cope with various artificial intelligence calculations, as well as the Snapdragon X62 5G networking data chip and Qualcomm Fast Connect 6700 connection platform to support Wi-Fi 6E wireless networks.
Terminal devices using the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor are expected to be available in the first quarter of 2023, but Qualcomm did not disclose the names of the first wave of companies to adopt this processor.
As for the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor, it is built with a 6nm process. It has not been announced whether it uses TSMC or Samsung process technology. It can reach a maximum operating frequency of 2.0GHz and has an 8-core configuration. Compared with previous designs, it can improve CPU performance by 15% and GPU display performance by 10%. It also has a Spectra Triple image processing component, which can support up to 1 million pixel camera lenses, and the screen can support 800Hz frame refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution design.
In terms of connectivity, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor supports the Snapdragon X51 5G connectivity data chip and is paired with the Qualcomm FastConnect 6200 connectivity platform, but does not support the Wi-Fi 6E wireless network specification.
Qualcomm said that the first terminal device to use the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor will be vivo's iQOO Z6 Lite, which is expected to be released this quarter.
