Earlier at the ICDT 2022 International Display Technology Conference held in Fuzhou, China, TCL's subsidiary, China Star Optoelectronics, showcased the world's first screen with a polarizer-free design that can be used for 360-degree inward and outward folding. It also showcased the world's first 17-inch IGZO IJP OLED concave screen.
The 360-inch display, which can be folded 8 degrees inward and outward, eliminates the need for a polarizer, reducing thickness and ensuring a closer fit. Its foldable design incorporates a self-compensating hinge design known as "360° Stress-Free" to accommodate varying folding forces.
In the inward-outward foldable usage mode, CSOT claims that mobile phones using this screen design will be able to respond to more operating experiences, including screen operation modes when folded inward or outward, or corresponding to different folding angles, and claiming that it can respond to 20 folding cycles.
In addition, CSOT has added stylus support and a stylus storage design to this screen design, so it will be able to meet the design and application needs of more foldable screen mobile phones.
The 17-inch IGZO IJP OLED concave display, also on display, is produced via inkjet printing and utilizes oxide compensation circuit technology to achieve higher display brightness. This allows for a larger surface area, making it suitable for laptops, tablets, and general portable screen design.
