As previously announced, Lenovo chose the Yamato Laboratory in Japan, where the ThinkPad was originally developed, as the venue for the release of the 25th anniversary model, and officially unveiled the T470 model as the basis.ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25.
However, Lenovo did not use AMD processor products in this new machine as previously stated. Instead, it adopted Intel Core i7-7500U ultra-low voltage processor, 14-inch screen specifications, and equipped with NVIDIA GeForce 940MX independent graphics card and other hardware.
In addition to continuing the T470's exterior design and the classic ThinkPad bento-box chassis, the body features a seven-column keyboard, independent volume buttons, and the classic red dot design. The ThinkPad brand name returns to the classic red, green, and blue colors (but unfortunately, the IBM logo is not reproduced), and the keyboard Enter key also adopts a straight key and a blue appearance design.
As for the connection ports, it provides standard USB, HDMI, RJ-45 network port, headphone jack, and is additionally equipped with a fingerprint reader. The screen can also be used completely flat according to commercial needs.
The ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 will be available starting at $1899 USD, but will only be sold in limited countries and regions, including the U.S. To coincide with the launch of the ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25, Lenovo is also offering discounts of up to 5% on ThinkPad models with Core i50 processors and higher.
