As smart wearable devices collect more and more data, we still have to frequently open our mobile apps to manually record our diet or check our sleep status. To solve this pain point, Luna officially launched the "Luna 2.0" smart ring today (February 26), which features a major upgrade and transforms into a personalized health assistant that can engage in natural conversation.
In today's wearable market, most devices possess powerful sensing capabilities, but the process of "interacting with data" remains challenging. Whether recording meals, health supplements, caffeine intake, or simply recording current feelings, users must unlock their phones, open specific apps, and switch between different menus, causing many important health insights to arrive too late or even be overlooked.
Replacing swipes with voice commands: A true "conversational health system"
To change this one-way and fragmented experience, Luna has fully upgraded its Luna Ring, giving it a brand-new "Luna Voice" voice interaction capability, which currently supports English, Thai, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Chinese, Portuguese and Russian.
The upgraded Luna 2.0 allows users to instantly log in to their diet, health supplement intake, exercise records, and subjective emotions directly through simple natural voice commands, without having to take out their phone or touch any screen.
Even more advanced, based on the real-time physiological data collected by the ring and the user's life context, users can directly engage in "two-way voice dialogue" with the ring regarding sleep quality, physical recovery status, stress index, or hormonal changes, and receive real-time and contextualized health advice.
In a statement, Luna founder Amit Khatri said, "This marks a fundamental shift in the definition of smart wearable devices. The Luna Ring is no longer just about measuring body data; it understands context, connects everyday behaviors with physiological characteristics, and provides feedback in a way that blends naturally into real life."
LifeOS: From "Dashboard" to "Environmental Intelligence"
The core of this voice experience is Luna's exclusive adaptive health management system, LifeOS.
This system can not only analyze biometric data from the Luna Ring (and future devices such as the Luna Band), but also provide real-time voice guidance based on the user's energy status, circadian rhythm, and recovery progress. Luna's vision is clear: they want to move health management away from cold, impersonal data dashboards and towards seamless "ambient health intelligence," so that the user's health status is not just recorded, but can be listened to, reasoned about, and responded to.
The newly upgraded Luna 2.0 smart ring is now available for purchase through official channels, with a suggested retail price of £299. It can also be ordered online in Taiwan.
Analysis of viewpoints
By directly integrating a "voice assistant" into the daily interactions of the smart ring, Luna 2.0 has carved out a completely different path from similar products such as the Ora Ring or Samsung Galaxy Ring.
Current smart rings are limited by the lack of a physical screen, and all data feedback relies heavily on the visual presentation of a mobile app. Luna solves the pain points of "active input" (such as recording diet) and "instant query" (such as asking about physical recovery) through voice interaction, making the ring a truly independent health terminal.
If LifeOS's voice recognition speed and AI reasoning capabilities are strong enough, it has a very good chance of significantly lowering the barrier for users to record their lifestyle habits and changing the way we interact with our own health data in the future.
