Amazon acquired One Medical for $7 billion in July and iRobot for $39 billion in August this year. The investigation will examine whether Amazon's acquisition of iRobot will increase its market share in the IoT device and retail markets, directly impacting its competitors. Regarding the acquisition of One Medical, the investigation will examine whether the deal provides Amazon with significant benefits, such as gaining access to additional user data through One Medical's services or gaining a significant advantage in the development of digital healthcare.
At the same time, the US Federal Trade Commission will also clarify whether Amazon's two consecutive acquisitions were motivated by the desire to eliminate competitors.
At present, Amazon, iRobot and One Medical have not responded to this.
