Unity announced at the Unity 2023 event that it will launch a new version of the Unity 2024 game engine in 6, and claims that it will enable developers to create high-quality visual content with higher CPU and GPU computing power, while also creating larger digital worlds.
In addition, Unity 6 also supports WebGPU technology, which means that developers will be able to create content using Unity technology for web environments. It will also introduce artificial intelligence to assist in content design, and will also correspond to the new generation of mobile device application functions and virtual visual device usage experience, allowing developers to create more content through Unity 6.
However, more details are expected to be announced later, and Unity also confirmed that Unity 6 will be positioned as a long-term technical support version.
In the demonstration content released simultaneously, Unity used "Fantasy Kingdom" produced by Synty Studios to actually demonstrate the effects presented by Unity 6 design, including more complex scene rendering, global illumination, and faster scaling effect performance.
