A few days agoAnnounceMicrosoft recently obtained the approval of the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) by reselling the distribution rights of Activision Blizzard's cloud streaming platform to Ubisoft.Preliminary recognition, making it possible for the acquisition of Activision Blizzard to be completed smoothly.
However, Microsoft is still in the negotiation stage with the UK Competition and Markets Authority, so it is not yet possible to confirm whether the UK Competition and Markets Authority has any additional concerns.
If all goes well, Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard could be completed as early as the end of this year. Basically, as long as the UK Competition and Markets Authority can give the go-ahead on October 10, Microsoft can officially announce the completion of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
Microsoft previously stated that if its merger with Activision Blizzard is successful, it would resell the distribution rights for all current and future Activision Blizzard PC and console game content on cloud streaming platforms to Ubisoft over the next 15 years. The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) apparently considered that the transfer of Microsoft's cloud streaming platform distribution rights to Ubisoft would not create a monopoly in the market and preliminarily approved the transaction.
