OnIntel, Samsung, TSMC, Micron, GlobalFoundriesAfter receiving subsidies from the US government under the CHIPS Act, the US government said it would further open up $2.85 million in subsidies to promote the production of chips that can be used to accelerate the development of digital twins technology.
U.S. Department of Commerce StatementSince digital twin technology can now be widely used in many fields, including environmental application simulation analysis, artificial intelligence learning and training, and even accelerating the design of various chips, it is hoped that subsidies from the CHIPS Chip Act will accelerate the development and growth of more technological applications.
Prior to this, the US government had already subsidized Intel with $85 billion, TSMC received $66 billion, Samsung, Micron and GlobalFoundries received $64 billion, $61 billion and $15 billion respectively, to promote chip production in the United States and avoid restrictions on chip supply.
The announcement that the subsidy will be used to promote the development of digital twin-related chips is mainly aimed at accelerating the growth of more advanced technologies through digital twins, while preventing foreign competitors from obtaining technological resources that may affect US national security. In addition, digital twin technology can also be used to accelerate chip research and development and production efficiency.
