Federal Communications Commission (FCC)Agreed earlierThe 6GHz wireless connection band is opened for ultra-low power devices, allowing such devices to use the new frequency band connection resources to achieve higher connection transmission rates.
Prior to this, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission had agreed to open up 6MHz of bandwidth in the 1200GHz band to promote the popularization of Wi-Fi 6E wireless network connections. This time, more ultra-low-power devices will be allowed to use the 6GHz wireless connection band, which will enable wearable devices, virtual vision headsets, or more IoT devices to connect through the 6GHz wireless network band and correspond to higher data transmission rates.
In response to the FCC's decision, industry players including Meta, Google, and Apple stated that it will drive the development of new wearable devices and advance more technological applications.
In addition to enabling low-power IoT devices like smart wearables to connect at higher transmission rates and corresponding to higher data throughput, the 6GHz wireless connection band will also become a key component of next-generation wireless networks. The current Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 specifications integrate this wireless frequency band connection resources, while the new 5G network connection specifications and future 6G networks will also integrate 6GHz wireless connection band resources, thereby corresponding to higher transmission bandwidth and transmission efficiency.
